Carson River Reminder
It’s summertime, and Nevadans and visitors alike are heading outside to enjoy the great outdoors! During this time of year, many people like to paddle, float and recreate in the Carson River. The Nevada Division of State Lands (NDSL) is reaching out to you to help us keep the river channel free of temporary obstructions and fences in areas open to the public. Please note: members of the public may get to the river using public access points, but should not cross private property without the owner’s permission.
As a navigable waterway, the State of Nevada holds the bed and banks of the Carson River up to the Ordinary High-Water Mark in trust for public use and enjoyment. If you plan to do any work or have structures in this part of the river, please contact us to see if an authorization is needed. You can find our application and also learn more about Nevada’s navigable waters on our website.
