Nevada Land Bank retires over 22,000 square feet of sensitive Land Coverage
The Nevada Land Bank, administered by the Nevada Division of State Lands (NDSL) and operated in conjunction with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) acquired 44,106 square feet of Class 1b Restored Hard Land Coverage located in the Kingsbury area. The Nevada Land Bank’s goal is to reduce Land Coverage on environmentally sensitive land to enhance infiltration and improve water quality in the Tahoe Basin. The NDSL received a transfer of Excess Coverage Mitigation funds from TRPA in the amount of $2.6 million in January 2023 and used a portion of those funds to permanently retire over 22,000 square feet of the Land Coverage obtained in the transaction.
